A DSL advanced learning opportunity providing up to date advice and guidance to support DSLs in their role. This will be packed full of top tips and address some of the most needed safeguarding topics for DSLs in the coming academic year. This masterclass is designed to support both experienced and new to role DSLs.
The ever increasing responsibilities of the DSL mean we constantly need to refresh our learning and understanding. This masterclass is provided by experienced safeguarding practitioners with over 30 years combined experience in front line and strategic safeguarding in education. Learning objectives fit within KCSIE 2022 and this is a brand new masterclass brought to you for the new academic year to ensure you are ready to not only do what is required but also capture the evidence in these areas.
There will be opportunities provided for networking with other safeguarding professionals in education and there will be time to ask questions and make sure this masterclass provides you with exactly what will help you in your role. Safeguarding governors would benefit from attending this masterclass as they will have additional information to quality assure safeguarding practice and inform their work with DSLs.

Ella Savell-Boss is an NSPCC accredited safeguarding trainer and Gestalt and Person Centred Therapist. Ella has over 20 years’ experience working in education and held the position of Director of Safeguarding for a large MAT.
Ella provides safeguarding consultancy and training to education and other organisations supporting children both nationally and internationally. Ella is a Home Office approved Prevent trainer and has led on FGM education and support. Working in a wide variety of local authorities allows Ella to create a number of specialisms which include, wellbeing, DSL support and supervision, Domestic Abuse, FGM, Forced Marriage, CCE and CSE, managing disclosures and online safety, to include a few. As a trained therapist and NSPCC Accredited Safeguarding Trainer with 20 years’ experience in the education and safeguarding sector, Ella is well placed to advise and support through a range of tailored training and consultancy programmes.
Beth Davies has worked within safeguarding for over 10 years and has worked as a safeguarding officer within a secondary academy and now provides safeguarding training and education to a number of schools locally, nationally and internationally. Beth has held positions specialising in support victims of domestic
abuse and sexual violence and her work has been praised as an example of best practice by Sandwell Children’s Safeguarding Partnership. Beth offers practical top tips for safeguarding leads and staff within both primary and secondary education as well as for adult safeguarding in many organisations.
