An online opportunity for those new to the role of implementing access arrangements, or for those wishing an overview or update of this process, to gain knowledge of the procedures for Access Arrangements covered by the JCQ for all learners with SEN requirements.
This online course has been specifically designed for those new to implementing Access Arrangements on meeting the needs of learners with SpLD in examination series covered by the JCQ’s Adjustments for candidates with disabilities and learning difficulties: Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments
The course will discuss current regulations relating to GCSE and GCE qualifications in particular. In this context it aims to address best practice in managing the assessment process, gathering information on candidates, communicating with relevant parties, essential record keeping and processing applications. It also will help develop delegates' knowledge of standardised assessment for access arrangements and the selection of appropriate tests to establish individual needs.
Questions and Answer sessions are included throughout the day, with opportunities to discuss delegates' particular queries relating to access arrangements for various candidates.
By the end of this masterclass, the delegate:
will have a better understanding of JCQ’s Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments
will have a greater knowledge of how to identify, collect and store background information on individual candidates and essential record keeping systems
will be confident in the processing of applications using the JCQ’s Forms 8, 9 and 8RF
will be able to report outcomes, inform colleagues and learners to comply with JCQ regulations
will have a greater knowledge of some of the reliable, valid and up-to-date assessment tools they could use to meet individual assessment needs for Form 8 candidates and how to interpret and use standardised scores for JCQ regulation purposes
