Mastering the Art of Public Speaking for Educational Leaders

This training is designed to empower educational leaders to become captivating public speakers. Through practical strategies and personalised feedback, participants will transform their public speaking skills, overcoming anxiety and engaging their audiences with confidence and poise.

This training is structured to address the core aspects of public speaking, making it an essential skill for educational leaders. Starting with the identification of the purpose behind public speaking, we delve into the fundamentals, including presentation structure, effective use of tone, body language, and visual aids. Building confidence and poise forms the core of our second session, where leaders will learn through visualization, positive self-talk, and audience engagement strategies to manage nerves and project confidence.

The training culminates with discovering the secrets of captivating public speakers, allowing participants to develop their own toolkit for effective delivery. It then concludes with a forward-looking segment, encouraging continuous improvement and application of the learned techniques in real-world scenarios.

FACILITATOR
Malcolm is an experienced leadership consultant who works with the National Institute of Teaching and Ambition Institute supporting school and trust improvement. In addition, he has been responsible for the design and delivery of both specialist and leadership National Professional Qualifications for 5 of the national providers.

He has been a Headteacher, Executive Headteacher and National Leader of Education, typically working with schools in disadvantaged communities. Malcolm led the design and implementation of a revised Primary & Secondary curriculum for the Harris Federation from 2019, which has been judged as outstanding by Ofsted in seven inspections. In his first headship he led his school from Special Measures to Outstanding, and then achieved recognition as School of the Year from the TES.
