This course delves into Online Safety and the key responsibilities in this area, for the Designated Safeguarding Lead. Over the last few years, within Keeping Children Safe in Education, we have seen an increased focus on online safety within the responsibilities of the DSL.
In essence, this is about recognising that there is often an online element involved in many offline risks that we need to address and remembering that technology can facilitate offline abuse.
Within this course, we will uncover some of the most common online risks facing young people; we will examine together the key elements of our responsibilities around filtering and monitoring and will grow in confidence as we look at incorporating key legislation and guidance into our online safety policies and staff training.
Please note this is an individual module from our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Essentials Certificate.
